The EHDS is on the launch pad, with interoperability as a key enabler for seamless and secure health data exchange across Europe.
How will Europe manage training in digital health interoperability?
XiA, a groundbreaking initiative in digital health!
The Xpanding Innovative Alliance (XiA) project is an ambitious and relevant European initiative that will adress the challenges of interoperability in digital health with the advent of European Health Data Space (EHDS).
Through an innovative pedagogical approach, XiA aims to bridge the skills gap in advanced digital health interoperability standards among IT professionnals, healthcare providers, and other implementers of the EHDS and European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format (EEHRxF).
XiA will make a significant contribution to build a more efficient, integrated and citizen-centric European healthcare ecosystem.

EHDS & interoperability
The European Health Data Space (EHDS) aims to promote better exchange and access to health data across Europe to improve healthcare delivery, research, and policy-making. Ensuring interoperability between diverse health information systems is crucial to achieving this vision, as it enables seamless data sharing and integration while maintaining data security and patient privacy.

What’s XiA?
The Xpanding Innovative Alliance (XiA) project is dedicated to advancing interoperability within the healthcare sector, particularly in anticipation of the EHDS regulation. Through a comprehensive educational initiative, XiA aims to address the skills gap in advanced digital health interoperability standards among healthcare providers, digital health solution providers, and individuals.

Project outcomes
Strengthen digital transformation, interoperability, and cybersecurity skills among healthcare and IT professionals across Europe by developing engaging educational content and micro-credentials in partnership with universities and health networks. Ensure training quality and recognition through a structured accreditation and credentialing framework.
