Key takeaways
This session highlights how EHDS-driven interoperability can increase exposure to cybersecurity risks, and why privacy-preserving and secure-by-design approaches are essential.
- Growing cybersecurity risks linked to EHDS interoperability
- Privacy-preserving mechanisms (CYLCOMED & SECURE EU)
- AI-related security vulnerabilities and governance challenges
Cybersecurity, privacy and AI security are now central to Europe’s digital health transformation. As XiA develops training pathways to prepare the workforce for the European Health Data Space (EHDS), these topics are fully integrated into the project’s vision.
About this session
This Open Learning Session brought together leading European experts to discuss key challenges and emerging approaches shaping the future of secure health data exchange in the EHDS, including:
- Juan Carlos Perez Baun (Eviden – Atos Group) : Insights from CYLCOMED and SECURED EU project on privacy-preserving health data sharing and secure data exchange.
- Evangelos Markatos (University of Crete / FORTH): Major cybersecurity challenges observed through the xShare project.
- Dr. Kassem Kallas (Inserm): Advances and risks in Artificial Intelligence Security.
This session provides both a strategic perspective and practical considerations to strengthen resilience in interoperable digital health ecosystems.
