XiA at the IHE-Europe Connectathon Week 2026
XiA will participate in the IHE-Europe Connectathon Week 2026, taking place from 23 to 27 March 2026 in Brussels (EGG Brussels).
The IHE-Europe Connectathon is one of the leading interoperability testing events in Europe. Over five days, solution providers, developers, standards experts, and healthcare professionals collaborate to test and validate the implementation of IHE profiles and other health data exchange standards in real-world conditions.
The Connectathon goes beyond theoretical discussions on interoperability frameworks. It provides a structured environment where systems are tested to ensure they effectively work together. As such, it represents a cornerstone of the European interoperability ecosystem and a key enabler of cross-border health data exchange.
XiA × IHE Europe: Aligning Education and Interoperability Testing
As an associated partner of XiA, IHE Europe plays a strategic role in advancing interoperability skills across Europe. IHE profiles constitute one of the core families within the XiA Framework, alongside HL7/FHIR-based standards and Testing & Validation activities.
On 24 March 2026, XiA and IHE Europe will organise a joint education session during Connectathon Week. Designed as a participatory and learner-centred dialogue, the session aims to:
- Identify concrete gaps in current interoperability education
- Prioritise training needs from the perspective of developers, implementers, and healthcare organisations
- Strengthen the alignment between educational resources and real-world technical implementation
This initiative reflects XiA’s methodology: transforming dialogue into structured outputs by mapping existing IHE materials to XiA learning families and defining future content priorities.
